The Basic Logic of Fate Reading: Heaven–Human Resonance
If you want to learn fate reading, you first have to understand what its basic logic is — then you’re less likely to lose your way.
The Basic Logic: Heaven–Human Resonance
The basic logic of fate reading is the resonance between heaven and humankind (天人共感).
Heaven–human resonance means this: you are a small heaven-and-earth, the world outside is a great heaven-and-earth, and the way you and that great heaven-and-earth respond to each other shapes the environment you find yourself in and the choices you make.
Problems Come From Friction in the Resonance
So when problems arise, it’s usually because friction and discord have developed in the resonance between you and heaven and earth.
Because the forces of heaven and earth outside are greater than ours, when friction comes it usually doesn’t pay to brace against it head-on. You have to go along with its rhythm — and also seize your own moment.
So you need to understand it, and also understand yourself; only through resonance and rhythm can the places where you don’t fit together be resolved.
And for this kind of understanding, using the point in time and space at the moment of your birth is a very good way to understand yourself — because the moment you are born is when heaven and human are most harmoniously one, since it is the starting point of everything in this life of yours, the point where all things converge.
The Three Layers: Heaven, Earth, Human
And to understand heaven and earth, different methods and models can each observe it from a different point.
The better a model can simulate heaven and earth as they really are, the better it can observe heaven–human resonance.
Here, what I agree with most is a three-layer framework of heaven, earth and human.
Heaven is Seven Regulators & Four Shadows, representing the source mansions of the soul.
Earth is Bazi (四柱八字), representing the laws by which nature runs.
Human is Purple Star Astrology (紫微斗數), representing the complex changes of the human world.
These three layers can be discussed separately, or brought together as one.
