When Luck Arrives, You Still Have to Change: A Chart Case

The chart I’m sharing today isn’t the kind so many people talk about now — where luck arrives and you’re transformed and soar. It’s one where, when the luck arrived, he changed the way he dealt with people and handled things, smoothed over the flaws in his chart, and succeeded.

The Logic Behind His Stubbornness

You can see from the chart that he is stubborn, persistent and unbending. All of this is because he is a Wood-type person whose Imprinting Stars in the Life Palace layer are two Conquest Stars, with no star to resolve them. Conquest Stars stand for goal orientation, so he pursues efficiency, and the underlying logic of treating results as the only target is extremely strong in him.

The Dipper Mansion Period: Job After Job

After finishing junior college in 1998 — with his department performing poorly, not being good with words, a specialty that didn’t match the job, and bad relations with his supervisors — he changed jobs again and again.

At this time he was travelling through the Dipper Mansion (斗) period in the Blessings Palace (丑), where he met Saturn, the Blessings–Hidden Lord, a Discordant Star. So the side of him that didn’t want to communicate was magnified entirely — and as it happened, the supervisors of this Wood period only wanted an easy life and had no wish to push themselves. His stubbornness, centered on professional standards, ran completely counter to what they wanted. Even so, because Mercury generated and supported the Dipper Mansion period, although he kept resigning, he always managed to find work.

In the 癸未 year he married a high-school classmate. In this period, although work wasn’t going his way, because Mercury, the Estate–Partnership Lord, trined it, his love life was still good. So in 2003 (癸未), with the Annual Advancement in 酉, he married. Mercury sits in the Communication Palace, so she was a classmate from his school days.

The Tail Mansion Degree: Four Benefactor Stars

In 2009 (己丑) he was hired by a well-known municipal design institute — the work matched his specialty and the pay was high. He worked conscientiously and won his supervisors’ appreciation; in 2010 (庚寅) he was promoted to deputy section chief, and in 2011 (辛卯) to section chief.

At this point he finally met the four benefactor stars of his life: Ethereal Benevolence, the Lunar Apogee, the Sun and Venus. Of these, Ethereal Benevolence — the Shadow Regent of the Life–Career Lord — is the most important. It resolved the combat between the Sun and Venus, and the Lunar Apogee’s affliction of the Tail Mansion (尾) degree, forming a virtuous cycle. Ethereal Benevolence stands for the appreciation of a deputy-level supervisor, and as a Shadow Regent it also stands for help from colleagues and subordinates. So the moment he moved into the Tail Mansion degree of the Career Palace (寅) in 2009, he swept away the decline of the years before.

What He Did Right

What did he do right? This step — the Tail Mansion degree meeting Ethereal Benevolence — means he had finally learned what it is to be passive, how to advance by stepping back. So the people around him could feel how at ease he was: he had goals, yet took other people’s feelings into account, and could still switch straight back into focus.

And so he could succeed for longer.
