Can Your Chart Show Your Family? A Seven Regulators Reading
In the comments on my last post, someone asked: does reading a chart need the family’s charts brought in alongside it?
Not necessarily. Your own chart can show your family — not in a “your mother is rather domineering” way, but
a household. The one who hits is the mother; the one who is hit is the father. And the mother has someone outside the marriage, a man who does whatever she asks. But she has never divorced — because of the child.
It’s written right there on the chart.
The Father and Mother on the Chart
He was born at night, with the Moon travelling in the Dipper Mansion (斗); his Stellar Regent is Wood.
Worked out, in this chart the mother is Mercury and the father is Saturn.
How it’s worked out is another matter; today we’ll only look at what you can see once it has been.
Opposite Saturn (the father) are three stars — Mercury, Mars and the Sun — and in its trines, Ethereal Benevolence afflicts Saturn.
What’s more, Saturn lodges in the Horn Mansion (角) — the Horn Mansion belongs to Wood, and Wood overcomes Earth. The father’s star itself stands in a position of being held down.
But there is something unusual here.
From the father’s point of view, Saturn sees Mercury and Mars at war between them, and needs Ethereal Benevolence to mediate that war.
In other words — the star that afflicts him is also the star holding this family together. The violence comes from Ethereal Benevolence; but that the couple hasn’t split, that the work hasn’t stopped, that emotions have an outlet, that there is still tolerance for the child — all of that is held up by the same Ethereal Benevolence.
What the Father Feels
So what does the father himself feel? You can see that on the chart too.
His configuration makes him very direct in how he does things. But afterward he feels he has hurt the relationship, and sinks back into blaming himself.
At that point, his wife hitting him feels to him almost like atonement.
Once he has taken it, his heart can let it go.
The Other Man, and the Marriage That Held
The Ascending Lunar Node lodges in the Three Stars Mansion (參), and the Three Stars Mansion belongs to Water. Mercury (the mother) lodges in the Stomach Mansion (胃), and the Stomach Mansion belongs to Earth. The Ascending Lunar Node belongs to Earth, and Mercury to Water — each star stands on the other’s element. This is called mutual lodging.
And the Ascending Lunar Node is Saturn’s Shadow Regent. A man other than the father.
It falls in the Partnership Palace.
Beside it is Venus. Earth generates Metal, and Metal in turn generates Water — the end of that line of generation is the mother’s star, Mercury.
That man does whatever she asks.
Beside Mercury is Mars, and Mars is the lord of the Creativity Palace, the palace of children.
Fire generates Earth.
The marriage didn’t end. Because of the child.
Two Systems Arriving at the Same Point
This is how the Seven Regulators read it.
I’ve also worked through the same chart once with Purple Star Astrology, on another account. Different stars, different palaces, a completely different path — on the Purple Star side, this family should have split; the structure of the Parents Palace spells out divorce outright, and it was another star that saved it.
And the star that saved it falls in the palace of children.
Children again.
Two systems, each going its own way, ending up at the same point.
