Benefactor Star

A Benefactor Star (恩星) is a planet standing in the generating (生) relationship to the chart's ruling star — in the Five-Phase (Wu Xing) cycle, the phase that nourishes and supports the Stellar Regent. It is the relational role of "that which gives to me".

The five star-relations classify every planet by its Five-Phase relationship to the Stellar Regent: Benefactor (generates me), Expression (I generate), Conquest (I control), Challenger (controls me), and Peer (same phase as me). Together they map the field of support and friction around the self.

Crucially, these are relational roles, not fixed qualities — the same planet is a Benefactor in one chart and something else in another, because the relation is defined against each chart's own Stellar Regent. The Benefactor Star shares a root with the Benefactor Archetype (恩格): when a Benefactor Star is the Imprinting Star, it shapes the Benefactor personality.
