The Career Palace (官祿宮) governs vocation, public standing, ambition, and the weight of responsibility. It sits at the 午 hour — noon, when the sun is at its most intense and luminous — symbolizing the fullest outward display of individual will and value: to project one's ideas outward, establish a position between heaven and earth, and be seen.
This is why work and career matter so much to a person's sense of self. It is a palace of pressure that must be borne: goal, ambition, and the responsibility that comes with visibility.
It depends on the Service Palace as its base — "a mountain needs its stones": the humble, grounded labour of the 6th palace supports the elevated standing of the 10th. It stands opposite the Estate Palace, the private ground of security against the public arena of achievement.
