Communication Palace

兄弟宮

The palace of communication and information flow — media, short-distance movement, basic learning, and peer exchange; siblings as one facet.

The Communication Palace (兄弟宮) governs communication, information flow, and lateral peer exchange — messaging, networks, social media, journalism, advertising and design, short-distance movement, and the rapid intake and processing of information. Classically the "palace of leisure" (閒極宮), it also covers hobbies, games, music fundamentals, and light craft.

In the diurnal scheme it sits at the 丑 hour, when a first sliver of yang is born within deep yin — a moment classical writers associated with sharp, fluid creative and verbal sensitivity. Its keynote is flow without ownership: exchange that needs no stockpiling, hierarchy, or heavy responsibility.

Its energy is inclusive and unforced — "water benefits all things without contending" — which is why it also signifies acceptance, receptivity, and one's earliest childhood companions and relatives. Siblings are one facet of this palace, not its whole meaning.
