The Expression Archetype (用格) — "The Self-Referent" — is the personality pattern formed when the Imprinting Star stands in the Expression ("I generate") relationship to the self. Each person carries one archetype: the habitual angle from which they first meet the world.
The Self-Referent's first reference is inward — "how do I think about this, how does it feel to me?" Their decisions start from their own inner state, and the world is expressed and processed through that internal filter.
The five archetypes share roots with the five star-relations: the Imprinting Star's relationship to the Stellar Regent decides which one a person carries. This entry frames perspective only; specific chart judgment sits at the practice layer.
