Partnership Palace
夫妻宮
The palace of partnership — spouse, business partners, and intermediaries; the projection of the Life Palace and the 7th-house counterpart.
The Partnership Palace (夫妻宮) governs committed one-to-one partnership — spouse and intimate partner, business partners, and the brokers or intermediaries who connect people. It is read as the projection of the Life Palace: the "other" against whom the self is defined.
It sits at the 酉 hour, sunset, when — in the classical image — one who has not yet gathered enough resources before dark feels the pull to cooperate with others. Cooperation rests on trust and on taking the other's perspective, which is the core of this palace's meaning.
In the tradition it also carries a bodily layer: as the projection of the Life Palace (spirit), the Partnership Palace reflects the physical body — the Daoist pairing of "nature and body" (性命雙修). Harmony here is read as harmony between spirit and body.
